The bones looked good; the house was "modern," however born from a questionable period in the 60's with small windows and missing many opportunities. The real force of the design was to create a better view, both of the house from the street and from the house of the wonderful natural environment.

The roof and windows were replaced, opening up the inside, expanding the views. Stone was added to create a base and better proportions. Materials and textures were introduced to create the necessary detail to enrich the daily experience, natural as it relates to the site. A breakfast room was added to the Kitchen, which allowed a panoramic view of the yard, bringing in natural light for much of the day to what will likely be the most used part of the house. In all, this was an intervention.
